Q: I have a checking account at another financial institution, why should I consider checking through ISU Credit Union?
A: Only ISU Credit Union gives you the ability to bank through your Idaho State University student ID card, including the ability to make MasterCard® purchases anywhere MasterCard® is accepted. And, every time you use your BengalCard Plus for a MasterCard® transaction, it benefits Idaho State University.

Q: What happens to my BengalCard Plus when I graduate or stop attending classes?
A: Your on-campus student benefits and functionality can be disabled or enabled based upon your student status. If you have the BengalCard Plus, the banking functions will continue to work until the card expires, regardless of your student status at Idaho State University. The BengalCard Plus is issued with a 3-year expiration date, so upon card expiration, you will automatically receive a standard ISU Credit Union debit card.

Q: Is the BengalCard Plus a credit card?
A: No, the BengalCard Plus is not a credit card. The BengalCard Plus is linked to your checking account at ISU Credit Union and it works like a MasterCard® debit card--accepted worldwide. The card can also be used for ATM transactions and PIN-debit transactions.

Q: Are my transactions protected and fraud loss limited by MasterCard® or ISU Credit Union in case of theft of my card?
A: Yes. If your card is fraudulently used through the MasterCard® payment network your liability is $0.00 assuming you report the lost/stolen card promptly. Please see cardholder agreement for more information.

Q: Can I get “cash back” with my BengalCard Plus when making a purchase?
A: Yes. Merchants who offer PIN-based debit transactions for purchases usually allow you to receive “cash back.”

Q: I already have an account at another financial institution; do I need to open an account with ISU Credit Union?
A: While you are free to choose which financial institution to use, Idaho State University feels that ISU Credit Union's free checking account combined with the BengalCard Plus and on-campus banking offers maximum value, convenience and faster access to your money.

Q: Will I be surcharged when I use my BengalCard Plus at an ATM?

A: You will not be surcharged when you use your BengalCard Plus at a ISU Credit Union owned ATMs or any one of over 28,000 ATMs within the CO-OP Network. (Note: most credit unions belong to the CO-OP ATM Network).  To find the ISU Credit Union branch nearest you, click here. 

Q: What should I do if my BengalCard Plus is lost or stolen?
A: Report lost or stolen cards by calling 208.282.2515 and calling ISU Credit Union at 208.235.7100.
